Google

Search and discovery in one app

Google is the main search and information app for Android. It suits people who want to look up websites, news, images, local places, products and answers from one familiar search box. Text, voice and camera-based searches give users several ways to find information, whether they know exactly what to type or are starting with something they can see or hear.

Useful tools beyond the search box

• Google Lens: Uses the camera to recognise objects, read or translate text, and help with visual searches.
• Voice search: Lets users speak a query instead of typing it, which is useful while moving around or when a question is easier to say.
• Discover: Presents a personalised stream of articles, updates and other information based on the user’s interests.
• On-screen search: On supported devices, features such as Circle to Search can identify or explain content without requiring users to leave the app they are using.

Who it suits

This is a practical choice for Android users who regularly search the web, check current information, identify items with a camera or follow topics through a personalised feed. It is less of a specialist tool than a broad everyday utility: its value comes from bringing several common search methods together and connecting them with Google’s wider services.

Read the rating with its scale

The app has a 4.07 rating from 28,904,332 reviews and an install range of 10,000,000,000+. That combination gives the score useful context: it reflects feedback from a very large audience rather than a small group of early users. Google LLC is listed as the developer. A rating without its review volume can be misleading; here, the substantial review count and install range show that this score has been tested at Android-wide scale.
