YouTube Music

Music streaming with video built in

YouTube Music is a music and audio app for listening to official songs, albums, music videos, live performances, covers and remixes. It suits listeners who want more than standard album releases, especially when a particular version of a track is easier to find on YouTube than in a conventional streaming catalogue.

Discovery and playback

The app combines a personalised home feed with search-based browsing, making it useful for both planned listening and finding something new. Users can move between an audio track and its associated music video, while mixes organised around activities such as working out, focusing or relaxing help narrow down the choices.

• Official releases alongside live recordings, covers and remixes
• Personalised mixes and recommendations based on listening habits
• Music videos and audio playback in the same app
• Lyrics and related-track controls from the playback screen

Who it suits

YouTube Music is a strong fit for people already using Google services, and for listeners who regularly seek alternate versions, performances or visual content. Support across Android-connected products, navigation tools and smart speakers can make it practical at home, in the car or while exercising. The large catalogue can also mean more filtering and searching when several versions of a song appear together.

Scale behind the score

The listing is published by Google LLC and sits in the Music & Audio category. Its 4.57/5 rating comes from more than 7.3 million reviews, alongside an install range of 5,000,000,000+. That combination gives the score considerably more context than a high rating backed by only a small number of opinions.
